Jacques Naude is a New York-based filmmaker hailing from Cape Town, South Africa. A director and cinematographer, Jacques’ films depicts the integral relationship between man, his culture, and the natural world. With place a key protagonist, portrayed through evocative visuals rich with texture and color, and a sparse, authentic dialogue, his narratives explore the deep-rooted generational connection between man and the environment. Overberg, Jacques’ first narrative short, won for best cinematography at the Shnit Worldwide Short Film Festival in 2018; Agulhas and Ziggy are both in the submission process for festivals in 2019. His commercial clients have included H&M, Nike, Puma, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Shu Uemura, Wall Street Journal, Harper’s Bazaar, MAC Cosmetics, and Vogue.
